Procurement professionals – consulting (all levels)

The roles

We are looking for energetic, experienced major systems acquisition professionals and project managers – who are seeking to make a difference. We are a specialist management services company that excels in delivering breakthrough outcomes for our clients – in the difficult, the urgent and the important. Our work is focussed on the better delivery of public services – and that often means government buying systems and services.

We work largely with the public and private sectors – and at the juncture of the two. These are leadership roles – leading our clients to deliver wiser, better, faster.

You will need tenacity, perseverance and resilience, and the courage and temperament to deal with the uncertain and the unexpected. You will need to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, every day.

We provide leadership through influence and service, not authority. Our managers and leaders are personable and engaging and are prepared to work at any level to get the job done. Most work in a team, but it might be a Kiah team, a client’s team, or a hybrid. Our clients expect us to work with them, alongside them – but not to them.

Mediocrity, acceptability, and the status quo aren’t enough. We seek to surprise our clients daily by our success, by delivering differently. We are looking for those intent on delivering outcomes, not process.

Who you are

To deliver better acquisition outcomes you will need to know what needs to be done and what it takes to be successful. You will need a mix of qualifications and experience commensurate with the level you position yourself.

You may understand Government process, but you will also need to know why not just how. Seeing the other perspective, how industry works to Government will be helpful.

Ideally you will have some experience of negotiation practices. Technical proficiency is not enough.

Typically, you will be:

  • a personable, energetic achiever.
  • enthusiastic and inquisitive, seeking to discover what you need to know rather than waiting to be led.
  • creative, articulate, and adaptable in both written and oral presentation styles. Able to distil complex concepts and arguments and present them confidently, rationally and defensibly.
  • quick of mind, intellectually agile, empathetic, and engaging in discussion. Both your clients and colleagues must look forward to meeting with you.
  • comfortable with technology and able to explore, adapt and apply new tools, quickly.
  • in pursuit of excellence but understand Pareto and the principle of diminishing gains, understanding that excellence is practical not perfection.

We also value:

  • experience of both the public and private sectors, though not essential. You should have some understanding of the needs and differences of the two.
  • understanding and experience of major systems acquisition, systems engineering principles and government processes – particularly if you have vendor side experience.

You must be an Australian Citizen and be prepared to undertake a national security clearance assessment.
